R. STAHL Weimar lighting competence centre celebrates 25th anniversary

Ex competent lighting design R. STAHL

Explosion protection specialist R. STAHL looks back on a quarter-century of lighting solutions expertise as the Weimar lighting competence centre celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2016. The facility focuses particularly on the development and production of complete lighting systems and complex emergency lighting systems. R. STAHL's comprehensive planning expertise puts industrial installations in hazardous and non-hazardous areas squarely in the limelight. Ranging from classic linear luminaires, pendant lights and floodlights to signal and emergency lighting products, the portfolio covers a wide scope of applications. The company currently stages an online multimedia products and solutions showcase and provides background information about all things lighting at www.stahl-explorers.com.

The latest generation of exceptionally sturdy, vibration-resistant and energy-efficient LED tubular lights provides a particularly shining example: These explosion-proof devices allow for a drastic reduction of operating costs. They can be operated at environmental temperatures ranging from -55 °C to + 60 °C and achieve a long lifespan of 80,000 hours. EXLUX series 6002 and 6402 linear luminaires offer state-of-the-art LED technology in tried-and-tested housing designs. Available as ceiling lights, pendant or pole mounted light fittings, they are ideally suited for economic general lighting purposes across zones 1, 21, 2 and 22.

Two R. STAHL group companies in England and Norway, Clifford & Snell and Tranberg AS, further complement R. STAHL's lighting expertise to also cover optical signal devices and lighting on vessels and offshore platforms, including helipad solutions. On request, R. STAHL provides customers with extensive support for lighting solution planning and light calculations. A dedicated tool for this purpose, R. STAHL's ezyLum planning software enables exact room geometry mapping including light calculation areas and standard objects. This facilitates a precise determination of the placement, required light distribution and luminous flux of luminaires. By comparing characteristics such as lifespans and maintenance intervals, users can find an ideally suitable and economic lighting solution for their needs.
