Information about the R. STAHL Digital Twin Platform

Welcome to the new R. STAHL platform for asset administration shells!

On our platform, we provide you with asset administration shells (AAS) for our products.

We also demonstrate the benefits for the user of asset administration shells, which are accessed by simply retrieving digital product information in all languages. Our use cases also show how quickly and easily all available information on a system and/or its built-in components can be retrieved and used by the relevant manufacturer – from operating instructions and declarations of conformity to required firmware updates through to the creation of pre-filled return forms.

In this Digital Twin platform, we will focus on the digital nameplate. Scanning a 2D data matrix code (QR tag) on a nameplate according to IEC 61406 provides direct access to the product's digital twin (the instance asset administration shell).

The asset administration shell contains all available information about a product and is updated where applicable, for example if a successor product becomes available. The information in the asset administration shell is classified (e.g. according to ECLASS), enabling the seamless exchange of data and ensuring interoperability.

The asset administration shell can be accessed in the cloud repository anytime, anywhere, via various end devices and independent of location. In the future, it can be used as the basis for a digital product passport throughout the product lifecycle. For the most part, it already meets the requirements of a digital product passport (DPP) according to the forthcoming EU ESPR Regulation.

The R. STAHL platform was developed for the following target groups in particular:

    • People interested in more detailed information on asset administration shells and digital nameplates
    • Designers, developers and engineers who are looking for interoperable planning data for R. STAHL products
    • Owners of R. STAHL products, operators/owners and service technicians who wish to access specific information and documents about a product instance (based on serial numbers)
