R. STAHL, the expert in explosion protection, is the first European manufacturer, which is now included in the ETL-Hazardous-Locations-Panel-Shop program of Intertek. This official acknowledgement by the leading international test, inspection and certification company enables R. STAHL to provide switchgear and controlgear intended for the North American market with an ETL certificate.
The label, which originally refers to the "Electrical Testing Laboratories" founded by Thomas Edison, is gaining importance for the export of machines to the USA and Canada. For OEMs, who purchase electrical equipment from R. STAHL, the quick availability of certified products will be a distinct competitive advantage as completion schedule of the system is significantly accelerated. ETL marking as a security label for equipment in hazardous areas relates to intrinsically safe "IS Circuit Extensions", "Div. 2 Panels", "Purge Panels" and general "Explosion Proof and Dust Ignition Proof Panels" are pursuant to the applicable North American standards.
The manufacturing processes of R. STAHL have been extensively audited before the company was included into the program as a recognised "Hazardous Locations Panel Shop". In addition, the expert knowledge of explosion protection and the applications knowledge the employees have, were thoroughly tested by Intertek.
