Intrinsically safe isolation on a footprint of 12.5 mm

R. STAHL is launching its new, 12.5 mm slimline ISpac modules for greater signal density of reduced overall width

Ex ISpac isolator intrinsically safe R. STAHL

R. STAHL is launching the new, slimline series of its ISpac isolator system. First in line are switching repeaters, transmitter supply units and digital outputs for controlling solenoid valves. With a width of 12.5 mm, the new single-channel and dual-channel modules that save up to 30 percent space in the control cabinet. This also means a reduction in installation cost, as less space means a significant increase in signal density.

The slimline modules fit smoothly into the existing product portfolio and can be installed on either DIN rails or, tool-free, on the practical pac-Bus. The pac-Bus eliminates the need for individual wiring, supplies up to 40 modules with auxiliary power and, together with the 9193 supply module, provides a collective fault signalisation function, useful for diagnosis. The ISpac family's wide range of functions fully covers the requirements of machine building and process plants. The modules for intrinsically safe, galvanically isolated signal transmission to and from field devices that can be installed in any type of hazardous area are suitable for the connection of sensors, transmitters and actuators of any kind. For simple and safe integration into complex architectures, we have pac-Carriers tailored for various automation systems with system-specific plugs and HART-multiplexer connectivity. In addition to Ex i isolators for SIL applications up to SIL 3, the product range also covers non-Ex i isolators for use in safe areas.
