Ethernet APL is the new standard for a 2-wire Ethernet in the process industry and enables continuous IP communication from the field level to the control system. In EXplained by R. André Fritsch has been with R. STAHL since 1988 and since 2005 has been the main product manager for Remote I/O systems, fieldbus technology and network products. For many years, he has been conducting national and international seminars on intrinsic safety, functional safety and fieldbus technology.
