IS1+ Remote I/O for
Zone 1 Hazardous Areas

IS1+ INTEGRATED IN MANY ZONE 1 SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE

IS1+ is the world's most frequently used Remote I/O system in Zone 1 hazardous areas, and is internationally certified. Here, the extremely robust design and the temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C are setting new standards. It can be directly installed in Zone 1, 2 as well as Class 1/Div. 1 without the need for an elaborate enclosure. Modifications and expansions can be carried out during operation, even in Zone 1 (hot-swap function). Easier installation, faster on-site commissioning and the long service life of the modules (over 15 years, and including 3 years warranty ex-factory) are the major advantages of our Remote I/O systems. Predictive maintenance and diagnosis concepts on the basis of NAMUR NE107 are further useful features.

CPU AND POWER MODULES

The CPU & power modules supply up to 16 I/O modules with intrinsically safe power and connect to all common automation systems. The multi-protocol CPU contains all standard communication protocols such as PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET or EtherNet/IP and Modubus TCP. Easy to select, it provides a high level of flexibility. Communication takes place via copper cables or fibre optic – redundant copper and FO topologies are fully supported. Hot swap and an intrinsically safe power supply for the CPU and all I/O modules are also standard.

    ANALOG INPUT/OUTPUT MODULES (AUMH)

With the multifunctional modules for analog input and output (AUMH), anything is possible in hazardous areas: Each of the eight channels can be parameterised separately as either an input or an output, transmitting the data in both directions to connected HART field devices. The inputs/outputs for 0/4 ... 20 mA and HART are "ia" intrinsically safe and short-circuit proof. Hot swap and integrated diagnosis messages for predictive warning messages complete the package.

      DIGITAL INPUT/OUTPUT MODULE

Our digital I/O modules (DIOM) have been designed to connect up to 16 intrinsically safe digital signals. The channels can be used in pairs as input for passive contacts or NAMUR proximity switches (EN 60947-5-6), or as outputs for low-power solenoid valves or Ex i indicator lamps. Up to eight inputs can be used as frequency inputs/counters up to
20 kHz, and up to four inputs can be used in the "Rotation direction recognition" and "Forwards/backwards counter" operating modes. The Ex i inputs or outputs are
short-circuit proof and galvanically isolated from the system. A blue LED signals diagnostic messages, thus providing an predictive warning that maintenance is required.

        OTHER MODULES AND SYSTEM SOLUTIONS

In addition, we have a large range of other Remote I/O modules available – universal modules, separate analog input as well as output modules, as well as digital output modules and temperature modules. All modules can also be flexibly mounted as part of a system-specific cabinet solution – what we call a system solution. For comprehensive information on this subject, go to:
