Media converter
PROFIBUS DP / Modbus RTU

The media converters transmit Profibus DP and Modbus RTU signals with fibre optics over distances of up to 2.5 km. Point-to-point and ring network structures are possible. Standard plug connectors can be connected to the inherently safe optical interfaces (Ex op is). The diagnostic functions detect errors early and report them to the control room. Series 9786 and 9186 are not compatible and cannot communicate with each other.

  • For FO network structures (Profibus DP, Modbus RTU) in hazardous areas of Zones 1 and 2
  • "Ex op is" interface and intrinsically safe bus connection (RS-485 IS) make for easy installation and maintenance in Zone 1
  • Diagnostic function for early error detection and signalling
